Prop Firm Evaluations and Funded Accounts for Filipino Traders
A prop firm evaluation is a paid test where you trade the firm's capital and keep a share of profits if you pass.

What A Prop Firm Evaluation Actually Asks You To Do
You pay an entry fee, trade a simulated or firm-funded account against a set of rules, and reach a profit target without breaking a drawdown limit. Pass, and you may be offered a funded account with a profit split. Fail, and the fee is gone. That is the whole shape of it.
The rules matter more than the target. Most evaluations cap your daily loss and your total loss, and some restrict how much you can make in a single day. Read the rulebook on the firm's own site before you pay anything, because the numbers differ from firm to firm and change over time.
This is not the same as opening a retail account with a broker. You are not depositing your own trading capital. You are buying a chance to trade someone else's, and the firm decides whether you keep the account.
Paying From The Philippines: GCash, Maya And What To Check
GCash is the usual rail for Filipino traders paying an evaluation fee, with Maya, InstaPay, PESONet, bank transfer and card also appearing at many firms. Check the firm's funding page for the exact methods it currently accepts, since this changes often.
Before you send money, open the GCash app and confirm the recipient details yourself. Do not trust a screenshot from a chat group. If the firm only takes crypto and you have never used it, that is a reason to slow down, not to rush.
Keep the receipt. If a dispute arises, a GCash reference number or bank confirmation is the only proof you have that you paid.
Session Hours In PHT And Why The Overlap Matters
Sydney runs 06:00 to 15:00 PHT, Tokyo 08:00 to 17:00 PHT, London 16:00 to 01:00 PHT, and New York 21:00 to 06:00 PHT. The London and New York overlap, 21:00 to 01:00 PHT, is the busiest window of the Filipino trading day.
That overlap sits late in the evening here, which suits anyone with a day job but wrecks sleep if you trade it every night. Many Filipino traders pick either the Tokyo morning or the first hours of London instead.
Some firms restrict trading during news releases or outside certain hours. Check the rules rather than assuming you can trade any session you like.
Checking A Prop Firm Before You Pay
The SEC Philippines publishes advisories against unregistered forex platforms, and its list of registered entities sits at sec.gov.ph. Look the firm up there. If it does not appear, that tells you something, though it does not automatically settle whether the firm is operating legally here.
The BSP also has a role in the Philippine financial system, so confirm the current position of both regulators before you treat any platform as allowed. Rules and advisories get updated, and last year's answer may not be this year's.
A prop firm evaluation is a business expense with a real chance of loss. Treat the fee as money you can afford to lose, and never fund an evaluation with money set aside for bills.
