Shown for northern-hemisphere winter. London and New York shift an hour during their daylight-saving period; the Philippines does not change clocks.

Your Forex Session Clock, Converted to Philippine Time

Forex runs around the clock, but the four main sessions open and close at fixed times that map neatly onto PHT. Sydney trades 06:00 to 15:00, Tokyo 08:00 to 17:00, London 16:00 to 01:00, and New York 21:00 to 06:00. Because the Philippines sits at UTC+8, you never deal with daylight saving shifts in your own clock; only the foreign sessions move, and the times above already account for that.

Notice how the day stacks up. The Asian hours fill your morning and early afternoon, London takes over in the late afternoon and evening, and New York arrives just before bedtime. The one stretch with no major session is roughly 05:00 to 06:00 PHT, when New York has closed and Sydney has not yet opened.

If you only remember one thing, remember this: the market is thinnest in the small hours of your morning and thickest in your evening. Your schedule, not the clock on a foreign trading floor, decides which of these windows you can actually use.

The London and New York Overlap Is the Main Event for Filipino Traders

The London and New York sessions overlap from 21:00 to 01:00 PHT, and that four-hour block is when the two largest financial centres are both open. More participants usually means tighter pricing and faster movement, which is why many traders treat it as the default window. It also lands at a convenient hour for most people in the Philippines: after dinner, before sleep.

The trade-off is energy. A 21:00 start is manageable; a 01:00 finish is not, if you have work the next morning. A common approach is to trade the first part of the overlap and step away before it ends, rather than forcing yourself to watch every candle.

London alone, from 16:00, is the second most active window and suits anyone who finishes work in the late afternoon. Tokyo, from 08:00 to 17:00, covers your whole working day, which makes it popular with people who check charts during lunch rather than at night.

Pick a Window That Fits Your Day, Not the Other Way Around

Start by writing down when you are genuinely free and alert. If that is 07:00 before the commute, Tokyo is your session. If it is 22:00 after the household has settled, London and New York are yours. Trading a session you cannot watch properly is worse than skipping it.

Next, decide how you will check your account. GCash is the main rail for funding and withdrawals locally, with Maya, InstaPay, PESONet, bank transfer and card also in use. Before you send anything, open the broker's own funding page and the GCash app to confirm the current process, limits and any charges, because these change and are set by the provider, not by you.

Finally, keep a simple log for two or three weeks: which session you traded, how long you stayed, and whether you were rushed. Patterns show up quickly, and they are more useful than any general advice about the best hours.

Check the Regulator Before You Fund Anything

The SEC Philippines publishes a list of registered entities at sec.gov.ph, and it has issued advisories against unregistered forex platforms. Before you deposit, look the platform up on that list and read the current advisories rather than relying on a forum post or an app store rating.

Note that the facts here cover session times only. Whether a particular platform may legally offer forex to Filipino residents, and what role the BSP plays alongside the SEC, is something you should confirm directly with the regulators before acting. Rules and enforcement positions change, and only the official sources carry the current answer.

That check takes a few minutes and costs nothing. Do it before your first deposit, not after.

What time is the London session in the Philippines?

London runs from 16:00 to 01:00 Philippine Time. It opens in your late afternoon and closes after midnight, which makes the earlier part the practical window for most people here.

What time is the New York session in the Philippines?

New York trades from 21:00 to 06:00 PHT, so it overlaps with London between 21:00 and 01:00. That overlap is the busiest stretch of the Philippine trading day, though the 06:00 close means the tail end falls in the early morning.

When is the Asian session in the Philippines?

Sydney opens at 06:00 and runs to 15:00 PHT, while Tokyo runs from 08:00 to 17:00 PHT. Together they cover your morning and afternoon, which suits anyone who can only check charts during the local working day.
