How This Guide Is Researched, Sourced and Updated
Every claim on this site is checked against a primary source before it is published, then rechecked on a fixed schedule.

Every Fact Traces Back to a Source You Can Open Yourself
Research starts with the primary source, not with a broker's marketing page. For anything regulatory, that means the SEC Philippines list of registered entities at sec.gov.ph. If a platform is not on that list, the guide says so plainly rather than softening it.
Where a number belongs to a broker, such as a spread, a minimum deposit or a withdrawal limit, the guide does not print a figure. It tells you to open the broker's own funding page and read the current terms, because those terms change without notice and a copied figure goes stale fast.
For anything involving money movement, the source is the app itself. GCash, Maya, InstaPay, PESONet, bank transfer and card each show their own limits and cut-off times inside the app or your online banking dashboard. That is where you check, not here.
Local Time and Local Rails Shape What Gets Written
This guide is written for readers on Philippine Time, UTC+8, so session hours are converted rather than left in London or New York time. Sydney runs 06:00 to 15:00 PHT, Tokyo 08:00 to 17:00 PHT, London 16:00 to 01:00 PHT, and New York 21:00 to 06:00 PHT.
The overlap that matters most for Filipino traders is London and New York, which runs 21:00 to 01:00 PHT. That is late evening in Manila, and the guide says so, because knowing you will be awake at midnight is more useful than knowing two cities overlap.
Funding sections are written around GCash first, since it is the main rail most readers already use, with Maya, InstaPay, PESONet, bank transfer and card covered as alternatives. Each one behaves differently on weekends and holidays, so the guide points you to the app for the current schedule.
Regulatory Wording Is Checked Before It Is Published
The SEC Philippines has published advisories against unregistered forex platforms. That is a known position, but it is not the whole picture, and this guide does not treat it as one.
Before any statement about what is allowed, the current SEC position is confirmed, and the question of whether the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has a say is checked as well. Where that is unresolved, the page says it is unresolved instead of guessing.
Nothing here names a broker as licensed, safe or best. Brokers are covered elsewhere on the site, and even there the guide points you to sec.gov.ph so you can verify registration yourself. A list you can open beats a badge you cannot.
Updates Follow a Schedule, Not a Mood
Pages are reviewed on a regular cycle, and any page touching regulation or payment rails is reviewed sooner if something changes. When the SEC issues a new advisory, or a rail such as GCash or InstaPay alters how transfers work, the affected pages are pulled and rewritten.
Corrections are made at the paragraph level rather than patched with a note at the bottom. If a line is wrong, it is replaced, so you are never reading a claim and its correction in the same breath.
You will not find named authors, awards or testimonials on this page. The guide stands on its sources. If you spot something that no longer matches sec.gov.ph or your GCash app, that is a signal the page needs another pass.
