How Much Can You Earn From Forex Trading in the Philippines?

Nobody can tell you a number in advance, and anyone who does is selling something.

Updated Sep 2026 · how we rate brokers

The Honest Answer Is That Your Result Is an Outcome, Not a Salary

There is no fixed monthly figure for forex trading, because a trading account is not a job with a payslip. Your result comes from three things multiplied together: how much capital you risk, how large each position is, and how often your decisions turn out right after costs. Change any one of those and the outcome changes completely.

This is why the searches for a 'custom broker salary' or a 'real estate broker salary' sit in a different world. Those roles pay a wage or a commission set by an employer or a transaction. A retail forex account pays nothing at all until you close a trade in profit, and it can pay less than nothing in a bad month.

So the useful question is not 'how much can I earn' but 'what would have to be true for me to earn anything'. That is arithmetic you can actually do on paper, before you send a single peso.

What Actually Moves Your Number Up or Down

Start with capital. If you fund an account with ₱10,000 and a trade moves 1% in your favour, the gross gain is ₱100 before any cost. The same 1% on ₱100,000 is ₱1,000. The percentage is identical; the peso amount is not. This is the single most common misunderstanding among new Filipino traders.

Next come costs, and they are not optional. Every position carries a spread, and some carry commission or swap. Those charges are set by the broker, not by the market, so read them on the broker's own funding and pricing pages rather than trusting a screenshot. A strategy that looks profitable before costs can flip to a loss after them.

Then comes position size. Two traders can hold the same view on the same pair and get opposite results simply because one risked 1% of the account and the other risked 20%. Risk per trade is the dial you control most directly, and it is the one that decides whether a losing streak is survivable.

Finally, frequency. Ten small trades and one large trade can produce the same total, but the large one can end your account. Many beginners overestimate how often they need to trade and underestimate how much a single oversized position can cost.

Run the Numbers Yourself Before You Fund Anything

A forex profit calculator is simply a tool that takes your entry, exit, lot size and the costs, then returns a peso figure. You can find these online or inside most trading apps. Use one on paper first: pick a pair, pick a lot size, and see what a 20-pip move is worth in PHP at your capital level.

Do this with a demo account before you deposit. Most platforms offer one, and it costs nothing to run fifty hypothetical trades and total them up. If the total is negative before you have risked real money, that is useful information, not a failure.

Be sceptical of any 'profitable gold trading strategy' that arrives with a fixed monthly percentage attached. Gold moves quickly and its costs differ from major currency pairs, so a strategy that works on EUR/USD may behave very differently on XAU/USD. Test it yourself, on your own numbers, over enough trades to mean something.

If you also want to learn stock trading alongside forex, the arithmetic habit is the same: capital, cost, position size, outcome. The instruments differ, the discipline does not.

Where to Check the Broker and the Payment Rail Before You Send Money

In the Philippines, the Securities and Exchange Commission publishes a list of registered entities at sec.gov.ph, and it has issued advisories against unregistered forex platforms. Check that list yourself, and confirm the current position, including whether the BSP has any say over the platform you are considering, before you treat any broker as legitimate. Nothing on this page is a recommendation of any broker.

Funding is usually the easy part. GCash is the common rail, with Maya, InstaPay, PESONet, bank transfer and card also in use. Fees, limits and processing times are set by the provider and the broker, so check the GCash app and the broker's funding page rather than assuming.

Session timing matters for how much attention you need. Sydney runs 06:00 to 15:00 PHT, Tokyo 08:00 to 17:00 PHT, London 16:00 to 01:00 PHT, and New York 21:00 to 06:00 PHT. The London and New York overlap, 21:00 to 01:00 PHT, is the busiest window, which is convenient if you work evenings and awkward if you do not.

Withdrawals are where problems show up. Test a small withdrawal early, before you scale up, so you learn the real timeline while the amount is still small.

Trading forex and CFDs on margin carries a high risk of losing more than you deposit. Most retail accounts lose money. Nothing on this page is financial advice.
